Apple butterscotch confit square” trail mix 🍎🥜
I have memories as a child of my Nana making these incredible “confetti squares” for us all. They were this delicious mix of peanut butter, butterscotch chips, and fruit marshmallows. I wanted to recreate these flavours into a healthy on the go trail mix ❤️
1/2 cup lilys_sweets no sugar added butterscotch chips
1 cup peanuts
2 cups dehydrated apples (recipe below)
1/3 cup Pumpkin seeds
1/3 cup living intentions activated granola
Dehydrated apples:
4-5 honey crisp apples (or any apple you prefer)
2 tsp bernard incanning fruit fresh powder protector (or lemon juice)
3 tbsp water
Apple butterscotch confit
In a large bowl mix your fruit fresh powder and powder, stirring to dissolve the powder. Slice your apples into quarters. Remove the core and and slice into thirds lengthwise. Chop each piece into 4-5 chunks to create 1/2” cubes. Place the apple cubes into the bowl and toss together with the fruit fresh mixture to completely coat. Drain the apples of any excess liquid. Place the apples into your dehydrate and dehydrate at 135°f for 8-10 hours or until desired texture is reached.
Allow to cool.
In a large bowl mix your apples and remaining trail mix ingredients. Gently stir to incorporate and the place in an airtight container to store.
